Write for ForAuthors

If you have any experience on the following topics that could help the readers of this site, please follow the procedure below to submit a guest article. Guest posts (aka guest blogging) are useful to our readers, who are made up of:

  • Authors.
  • Potential authors.
  • Students of Michelle Campbell-Scott’s book formatting, book marketing, and electronic shorthand (aka digital notetaking) courses.
  • Readers of Michelle Campbell-Scott’s popular ‘ForAuthors’ books (‘Goodreads for Authors’, ‘PR for Authors’, ‘Make Your Book Work Harder’, and the forthcoming indexing for authors book ‘How to index a nonfiction book in Word’.
  • Viewers of Michelle Campbell-Scott’s YouTube channels.
  • VAs and Author Assistants.

The main topics of interest to ForAuthors readers are:

  • Writing – nonfiction, novel-writing, marketing materials, blogging.
  • Publishing – self-publishing, approaching agents, the main publishing platforms (Amazon, Smashwords, Kobo, Apple, Nook).
  • Marketing – KDP Select experiences, free days, income reports, guest blogging, blog tours, webinar & video marketing, advertising (especially Facebook and Goodreads).
  • Social media – all platforms.
  • Productivity & time management – including author overwhelm, balancing work/home, coping with children.
  • Earning online – other ways to earn money from books, as well as from blogging, affiliate marketing, etc.

There is mutual benefit (although not monetary!) in writing articles for others’ sites. Please follow the guidelines below.

  1. Email me (at mcampbellscott [at] gmail.com) or use the Contact form.
  2. Send the article in the main body of the email or as a PDF attachment. Use ‘Guest Post’ as the subject line of the email. Your article should be original and your own work. We will also consider other types of  ‘articles’ – e.g. video, audio.
  3. Include contact information so ForAuthors readers can find you – either your [main] website, Amazon author page, or social media profiles.
  4. Wait to hear from me or my VA. We are assembling an editorial calendar at the moment for publishing posts over the next six months. We will let you know if your post has been selected for inclusion in the calendar and the date of publication. We will aim to let you know if your post hasn’t been selected – probably because it is too similar to something else we have scheduled.
  5. Please note that there is no financial compensation for articles – but you do benefit from a backlink to your website and exposure to the readers of ForAuthors.
